Koichi was not in love with her, it was just that they were compatible with each other. It turned out that Koichi did not understand love and marriage due to his parents, as his mother accepted the fact that his father was keeping an affair with another woman as long as he would bring money back home. Although Koichi indicated his choice to choose MC to be his wife was due to the benefit as MC’s father is the executive of a bank, he also said that he thought he could be in love with the girl he was unwilling to let go of at the age of two (his father told him about it). MC asked for a divorce after getting drunk as Ai looked for MC at her workplace and told her how Koichi loved her more than MC in private; though, Koichi did not agree to the divorce as he did not want to do it. MC had decided to attend one last gathering with Koichi as his wife and then she would file the divorce and leave the house. However, it turned out Koichi expressed his thought that he knew nothing about love and that he loved neither that Ai nor MC. Though, he promised to quit seeing Ai if MC insisted. As Ai also attended the gathering, she overheard everything and made a scene of it. Their affair got uncovered by the people at Koichi’s company, including the general manager. Koichi then got transferred to a subsidiary company from the main company. He got depressed while MC was busy at her work. Once, Koichi invited both parents for a dinner gathering announcing their divorce without acknowledging MC ahead. MC strongly opposed it. MC indicated that he could get her to agree to the divorce only if he got a hold on himself first so that she would not be worried about him. A few months passed, Koichi was getting used to his new position and started having over-time too. MC also got an award on a project that Koichi had provided idea. At the celebration party, everyone (including Ebihara, Aiba, and Genji) attended the party to congratulate MC for the award. Koichi felt jealous with all the men around MC. Once they got home, Koichi started kissing MC. As both of them agreed to go on, Koichi’s phone rang and it was the news about his father going into a hospital due to a heart attack. It was because of this incident that MC got to know about the affair of Koichi’s father with another woman. As Koichi’s father went into the hospital due to a heart attack, Koichi’s mother tried to convince Koichi and MC to quit their jobs so that Koichi could take over his father’s company as the CEO and MC would be assisting him. Koichi refused it and also asked if MC would stay with him if he got disown by his parents. Koichi’s father actually did not mind Koichi to choose his own way, and so MC wanted to convince his mother to accept his choice. Although she got refused by his mother, MC got to know his mother was a good school teacher before marrying to his father (in other words, his mother gave up her dream job just for her marriage). In private, Koichi’s father suggested the best way to make his mother to accept it is by having grandchild sooner. On the way to home from hospital, Koichi expressed his wish to be with MC for the night. The other night after having over-time at work, MC shared a taxi with Aiba as he was living nearby. They met Koichi who was also off work from his over-time. Koichi show his jealousy and started his forcefully kiss in elevator. The next day Koichi took MC to one of his father’s property that was far from the city. Koichi wanted to share the starry night scene with MC as he had forgotten about it before meeting MC. MC was then the first one he shared this starry night with. Back to the logging, Koichi proposed to MC again, they made the vows for the second time, exchanged rings, and had their “first night” as a newlywed there. Though, Koichi invited MC to go to Korea with him as a private trip with the couples they has known when he was at his previous position. MC was very happy to go to a trip with him. Koichi decided to leave Korea earlier than as planned as Ai’s husband asked him to leave and Ai’s husband would take care of that couples. However, MC asked him to visit Korea on their own as they don’t really have time alone together. They have a wonderful time visiting around.
